The Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai is one of the largest, most fascinating and atmospheric Hindu Temples in South India. It is a must go experience.
maduraimeenakshi.orgIt is a very easy day excursion from Rajakkad - an early morning start will get you there by 10am.
We can recommend, depending on tastes, somewhere to lunch - posh or atmospheric! Both delicious!
You will be back with us in the cool of the hills by 5pm.
KODAIKANAL
Kodai was founded by the American community as a beautiful Hill Station, providing relief from the hot summers on the plains, with all the features that included wonderful facilites for their communities - One of the best schools in India, the Christian church, the Club, sport facilities, hotels etc.
The area is good for tea and fruit cultivation - 1,800 meters higher than Rajakkad where we grow coffee and Pepper at 1,000 meters. It is cooler so you need to take a jersey!
We arrange lunch - if we can at The Club, or one of the top hotels.
Leaving Rajakkad at 9am for the 2 hour drive through wonderful countryside you will arrive in time to walk around, shop and then lunch. Returning by 5pm.
Robesh will arrange transport and lunch bookings - costs will depend on your meal choices and transport arrangements.
